Health Help 101
Information About Health IssuesStanding in faith…
When cancer affects our life it causes us to seek answers. Most often we turn to God. We are looking for just that small glimmer of hope somewhere. Faith in God is proven. God has experience in this area. Throughout the ages, he has come through. He has healed. He has comforted and given strength.
Where is faith in the unknown? It comes from inside you and taking a stand for faith. Reaching, believing and trusting in God that everything is going to be ok. Even in the darkest of moments, we can doubt this. But you have to have faith and trust. No matter what.
I don’t have all the answers. I wish I did. But I do have experience that can guide you and your family through this difficult time. Sometimes just listening to someone who has been there is all it takes to get you thinking about hope. There is always hope. In faith, Terri
Hearing the news…
I remember the day my Mom told me over the phone she had cancer. She was originally diagnosed with early stage breast cancer, DCIS. As a nurse I knew that wasn’t so bad. She can get a little treatment and she will be okay. Just fine. She went for a chest xray and standard workup like everyone does. The Dr. said there is something on the chest xray. It needs to be biopsied. We were confident it was nothing. But it wasn’t nothing. It was stage IV lung cancer with multiple bone mets. I cried for days. Our family was devastated. How could that be? She has two different cancers! After the initial shock, we gathered our thoughts and prayers. We began to believe she can beat this too. Our faith in God and his love for us is what gets us through. The Dr. gave her 6 months with treatment. That was 2 years ago. In September of last year she was told she has a very large brain tumor, metastatic from the lung cancer. She had one week of radiation. They gave her 1 month. That was 4 months ago. She is tired a lot but is still fighting. She just finished chemo again this past week. As a family we are evolving through this process. We support her and still believe she can be healed. We have not given up hope and neither has Mom.
For all those families out there that are struggling with this disease, I want to say, “Never give up hope”. There were quite a few times when we thought we were going to lose Mom, but we didn’t. Through her will and God’s will she is still here. That is why I wrote this eBook. I wanted to help families like mine that are going through what we have and are currently going through. You can get through this, there is hope. I pray for you and the healing of your loved one. God bless! Terri
Stronger Than Cancer…
I don’t have cancer. But my Mom and my best friend do. Two of my grandparents did too. Many times I have thought about the great strength they have shown in fighting this elusive opponent. How do you fight it? You can’t see it on the outside, but you know it’s there. Any given day you wonder if it is growing or if it is going away. They keep swinging away at it, sometimes taking a very bad beating. But like a prize fighter they somehow find the heart to stay in the ring. Are you fighting cancer or have a family member that is? Do you feel overwhelmed right now? Sometimes I feel that way myself. That is why I put together this eBook. I wanted to help families cope and also give them hope. Remember, there is always hope. I wish you well…Terri
